Biography
My artistic expression started as a child spending many hours during and after school drawing and painting along with academic schoolwork. A degree in art just was not an option then. I left for college and received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Kent State University in 1986. My true passions are in art, holistic health, nature, travel, and exercise. I have a certificate in Holistic Nursing and I am a Certified Personal Trainer.
Over the years, I never deserted my artistic talents and passion though I continually worked full-time as a Registered Nurse. I pursued my art in workshops and classes at various universities and with professional artists around the country. I have traveled the United States and have lived in all four corners. I have seen the beauty of nature, diversity, and people as I lived and traveled the United States. Nature’s beauty inspires me, revitalizes me, and energizes me. I want to capture and express the healing and joyful aspects of life, and man’s relationships with nature, using graphite, colored pencil, acrylic paint and collage.
My artwork can be seen continuously at the Red Gallery in downtown Yakima. My artwork has won awards and has been accepted in Juried Art shows and at various wineries in the area.
My artist studio has a beautiful view of Mt. Rainer, the Cascade Mountains and the valley. I am a wife, artist, and Registered Nurse currently residing in Yakima, Washington.
